Potomac Yard is located on Jefferson Davis Highway in Alexandria VA near Four Mile Run and the border with Arlington. Potomac Yard is so-named because it was a freight-train station before a 589,856-square-foot shopping center was constructed here in 1997. Potomac Yard was a proposed site for a new stadium for the Washington Redskins, but community organizers pushed for the completion of this shopping center instead.
