Ballston, a city named after the Ball Family-who were related to George Washington, is a thriving city with personality nestled in Arlington County, Virginia. One of the oldest crossroads in Northern Virginia lies in Ballston. The crossroads began as Birch’s Crossroads and became Ball’s Crossroads. Now this area is the intersection of North Glebe Road and Wilson Blvd. This area has been a focal point in Ballston since 1740. In 1896, attention to this area was taken away with the coming of the Electric Trolley Line.
