About Virginia Theological Seminary School at Seminary Hill in Alexandria VA
Virginia Theological Seminary School is located on an 80-acre campus at 3737 Seminary Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22304. Virginia Theological Seminary is abbreviated VTS, but the formal name of the school is the Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary in Virginia. VTS was founded in 1818 and is now is the largest accredited Episcopal seminary in the United States.
Virginia Theological Seminary
The seminary’s primary mission is to form men and women for lay or ordained leadership and service in the ministry of the church. Out of its evangelical heritage and its missionary tradition, it emphasizes the life of prayer, worship and community, the ministries of preaching, teaching, pastoral care and social justice. It seeks to prepare its students as servants of Jesus Christ to equip the people of God for their vocation and ministry in the world. Although it is an Episcopal school, VTS also provides continuing theological education for clergy and laity of all denominations.
The seminary believes that theological education leading to ordination normally requires full-time study and full participation in its common life and worship. It also believes that theological education is greatly enhanced when it is done within an ecumenical, international and cross-cultural context.
The well-kept grounds of the VTS seem to make it a welcome neighbor has property values surrounding the seminary are steady and suggest desirability of the neighborhood.

Introduction to Bishop Ireton High School
Bishop Ireton is a college preparatory, coeducational high school serving students from across the Washington Metropolitan area in grades 9 through 12. Founded in 1964, Bishop Ireton is owned by the Diocese of Arlington, and is rooted in the tradition of Salesian spirituality taught to us by the Religious Congregation of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, our founding religious order. As we follow our Live Jesus! Charter, we continue an affiliation with the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and will interact with other Salesian groups as well, as we collaborate on projects that express our mutual devotion to the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal.
Bishop Ireton is fortunate to have dedicated lay faculty and staff, as well as a full time chaplain from the Diocese of Arlington and teachers and administrators from the Sisters of the Holy Cross and Franciscan Religious Communities. Faculty teach their students according to the unique spirit of St. Francis de Sales, teacher, missionary, bishop, and gentle saint.

Kingstowne Kids Kick-off
Kingstowne
Kingstowne is one the capital area’s best suburban neighborhoods for families and kids. One reason why is the upcoming soccer program. The Kids Kickoff Soccer program is offered to children ages 3-10 years.
Kids who participate can enjoy six weeks of 45-minute soccer fundamentals classes led by oin Kingstowne Soccer Director Eben Donkor. The group meets Saturday mornings at the Snyder Center field. This is a wholesome way to stay fit and develop your child’s soccer skills through a fundamental session that covers all areas of play!
The season is right around the corner, so make plans to attend the first session starting March 27th. Arrival times are staggered for age-groups:
- 9:15 A.M. for ages 3-6
- 10 A.M. for ages 7–10.
Please note there must be a minimum of four participants in each group in order for them to run. There is a fee for the program. Kingstowne residents pay $89 and non-residents pay $99. If you prefer you can opt to pay by the session for $20. If you’re interested, please fill out a registration form at either Kingstowne fitness center.

Hayfield — proximity to Fort Belvoir
Between Newington and Franconia is the “metropolis” of Hayfield. Downtown Hayfield consists of a single strip mall, Hayfield Plaza Shopping Center. The neighborhood of Hayfield is in a quiet eddy where there is not much in the way of traffic or noise. The southern side of Hayfield is nearly completely surrounded by Huntley Meadow Park which only adds to the quiet, suburban feel of Hayfield. A US Coast Guard station at the center of the community, but the trees and parks of the station feel more like a park than a base.
Hayfield is close to Hilltop Driving Range and Golf Course. The shops of Kingstowne Towne Center is nearby for much of your shopping needs. Hayfield is also very close to several gates of Fort Belvoir. Commuters who live in Hayfield but work in the city, most often make their way to town down Telegraph Road or Beulah Street in Franconia.
Hayfield Elementary and Hayfield Secondary are both located near “downtown Hayfield”. Telegraph KinderCare is nearby and a little further away towards Kingstowne is La Petite, another childcare center.

Burgundy — affordable single family homes near the metro
Burgundy Village is located in Alexandria VA just outside the Capitol Beltway in Fairfax County. Burgundy is nestled in a quiet dale between Franconia Road and Telegraph Road. The homes here range from humble to high-end. Most of the neighborhood was built prior to 1980, but many of the homes are newer. Burgundy Farms Country Day School is located here as well. Burgundy is very close to the Huntington Metro Station with many homes within walking distance (if you’re willing to cross Telegraph Road on foot).

Carlyle Towers
The Carlyle Towers is a contemporary luxury three-building complex located across the street from the George Washington Masonic Memorial and just blocks away from the King Street Metro Station. Carlyle Towers is also only four blocks away from the Eisenhower Avenue Metro Station and Metrorail’s Blue and Yellow line, which makes the Carlyle Towers a great location for travel. Carlyle is located near Old Town Alexandria.
The Carlyle Towers offers a living lifestyle you will enjoy, appreciate and won’t want to leave anytime soon. There are plenty of amenities that will enhance your living experience. There is not one but two swimming pools. There are both his and her sauna rooms, a hot tub, and a swim-in-place pool. In addition to the Jacuzzi pools, there are tennis courts, a shuffle board court, putting greens, an indoor car wash area, and individual bike storage. The fitness and exercise room is complete with machines, free weights and treadmills.
The average square footage of units at the Carlyle is 1200. Each condo generally includes a living-dining combo, a master bedroom with full bath, kitchen with new applicances and of course a washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
Carlyle Towers has a vibrant neighborhood community with many club activities.

Because of its central location in the Carlyle District, Carlyle Towers is close to many conveniences and services. For example, there is an AMC Hoffman Movie Theater complex only a couple blocks away at the Eisenhower Metro. Whole Foods Grocery Store is located nearby on Duke Street. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance and many more a trolley ride away. Some of those restaurants include Stella’s, Joe Thiesman’s, the Carlyle Deli Market, and Eve’s Place. Old Town is filled with shops and restaurants like Hard Times Café, Misha’s and Le Gaulois.
If you enjoy visiting libraries you might enjoy any one of three different libraries that are less than 3 miles from Carlyle Towers, Martha Washington Library, James Duncan Library, and Kate W. Barrett Library.

Another benefit of living at Carlyle Towers is that residents are eligible to join The Carlyle Club. The Carlyle Club hosts events such as weddings, cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, bat & bar mitzvahs, baptisms, birthday parties, private parties and Quinceaneras. The Carlyle Club will provide elegance and sophistication for your events. Entertainment of all sorts can be provided with a state of the art sound and light system, bands, orchestras, and comedy acts. Recently Carlyle Towers held a “Get Acquainted” in May at The Carlyle Club in the John Carlyle Square. The party’s purpose was to bring the residents of the Carlyle community together. The Carlyle Towers are managed by the CFM Management Services which serves the Washington D.C. metro area.
