Westfield High School located in Chantilly Virginia,4700 Stonecroft Boulevard Chantilly, VA 20151, is home of the Bulldogs. Student’s academic excellence have contributed to them being listed as one of the top 50 schools in the United States and one of the top 30 by the Washington Post. Student parking lots are available and can be reserved for a year-to-year basis in addition to a student drop off entrance at the side of the school. The commute is simple for local residents and buses are accessible to those in need of transportation to and from school.
Westfield’s faculty is separated into ten departments such as English, ESOL, Fine and Performing Arts, Foreign Language, Health and Physical Education, Mathematics, Professional and Technical Studies, Science, Social Studies, and Special Education. They offer 22 of the 32 advanced placement courses that the College Board advises for. Interesting aspects that set it apart from other high schools is that the Aerospace Science program is the only one of its kind in Fairfax County and the Television Production Lab is the most advanced of any school in Fairfax County Public Schools. The foreign language department offers six languages to study and unique courses such as anatomy and physiology is offered to students wanting to pursue a medical career.
A variety of sports teams are had including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, crew, cross country, track and field, dance team, field hockey, football, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swim and dive, tennis, volley ball, and wrestling. The athletic program is one of the more successful in the area having fought for the multiple championships received since the schools opening in 2000. With the school colors of black and yellow and a fierce bull dog mascot, its clear why students are proud to be apart of this impressive school.
