Arlington Ridge-”The Ridge”
Arlington Ridge, being bordered on the north by the Pentagon, the west by the Army-Navy Country Club and south the City of Alexandria, is chock full of beautiful homes, wonderful residents, and alot of history. The Hume School which was built in 1891 is home to the Arlington Historical Society and was a full-working school until 1958. Fort Scott was named after General Winfield Scott, General-in-Chief- of the Army. It was built to protect the capital. These are both well-known historical sites in this community.
Also referred to as “The Ridge” this piece of land was prepared for construction of the Pentagon. It is believed that thousands of years ago the ridge may have been the shore line of the Potomac River. The Ridge also has it’s place in Revolutionary War and Civil War history. Army Navy Drive, formerly known as Old Georgetown Road in 1781, was the route used by General George Washington and the French troops to arrive in Yorktown,Virginia where the British were defeated.
With a Hollywood role as well, Arlington Ridge was featured in the opening of the 1987 film “No Way Out”. With so much beauty and history “the ridge” makes for an ideal place to visit and live.

Dedicated on October 14, 2006, The Air Force Memorial remains to be dedicated to the United States Air Force service members and the Heritage Organizations of the USAF.
The Memorial depicts a picture of flight of jet / space vehicles and memories of their pioneers.
The 3 core values of the US Air Force are represented by the 3 spires of different heights and asymmetrical: ‘Integrity first, Service before self and Excellence in all we do’.
The Air Force Memorial can be seen all over town but Arlington Ridge provides a dynamic view.

West End Alexandria 1 BR
1 bedroom in West End Alexandria less than $300,000
The West End of Alexandria is a mixed bag. Condos and high rises abound in “Condo Canyon” near Landmark and Lincolnia. But single family and townhouse development from the 1950’s and 1960’s is also found tucked on side streets and around unexpected corners. The homes around and near Seminary Road are regarded by many as stately and highly desirable. Another interesting neighborhood in the West End is Cameron Station. Cameron Station is a newer development of townhouses and condos, but the stylings and architecture imitate the best of Old Town. Cameron Station is relatively close to both Landmark Mall and Old Town.condos at the Watergate are loaded with amenities
The West End is well connected to Washington DC via I-395. The West End is the newest and largest part of the city. The West End has a diverse selection of restaurants and shops as well as Landmark Mall and several fine hotels. Fort Ward Park and Museum is found in the West End of Alexandria.
